The Crossing of the Desert

The crossing of the desert is full of traps, of painful images which lead to lost oases, and trickster mirages. But these companions, being tenacious are of hardly any importance if we compare them to the depressing company of the questions. Those are what produce such abismal loneliness, the insatiable thirst which burns the throat. When did the crossing really begin? For what? When will it come to an end, if indeed it ever will? The mind tricks, the lost images, the mirages are mere accidents by the wayside. The real crossing of the desert are in fact the questions.
