I was born on an island at the eastern end of the
Mediterranean Sea a long short time ago. Soon after I moved to the UK, due to
the career of my father.
My love of drawing and painting surfaced in an earlier childhood and my first
exhibition was on Gibraltar television whilst still at school. Despite this
obvious talent, a more academic route was taken.
A wide variety of jobs followed, both in the UK and Europe. In 2002 inspired by
all my experiences, I took up pencils and brushes again studying watercolours,
pastel and Chinese ink with Robert Jones in Liverpool.
The following year I ventured into the bright, vibrant world of acrylics which
provided a very unusual canvas. Combining art with an environmental element.
In
2003 I began a series of paintings on old televisions and computer monitors,
completing 20 in the ensuing 13 months. One of these was accepted for the
prestigious John Moores Prize in Liverpool in 2004.
I have used other found objects - oven, microwave oven, old shoes, ironing board,
tiles, wood.
2003-04 brought a number of exhibitions in Liverpool and Birmingham which saw
the start of a successful career.
Wishing to travel again, I left the UK in November 2004 arriving in Barcelona
with bicycle and rucksack. From Tarragona I cycled to the Murcia region,
arriving in Puerto Mazarron where I stayed for the next 6 months.
I painted on the branches of palm trees that had been cut and
continued to paint anything else interesting that I found, and was commissioned
by a client from Norway to paint the fender of his car.
Further travels brought me to Nerja in September 2005.
Continuing to meet other artists and improve my technique, I also planted over
50 trees and helped local organic agriculturist Antonio Atencia Benitez in the
next year.
I have recently returned from a 3 month spell in the French Pyrennees, painting
and working in nature.
Works on a range of canvas have been bought by an ever growing client base that
includes art lovers from Spain, UK, USA, Germany, France, Holland, Sweden,
Norway, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
